Fair Taxes

If you think your paying more than your fair share in taxes, you’re probably right: in Connecticut, working class and middle class families pay a far higher percentage of their income to state and local taxes than do the very rich.

In this looming economic crisis, too many of our leaders can offer no solutions beyond slashing the public services that Connecticut families depend on and that contribute to our high quality of life: our schools, our healthcare system, public safety, our parks, our libraries and emergency services.

Working Families believes it’s time to fix our state’s imbalanced tax structure to protect working class and middle class families and invest in our infrastructure and in the future.

After decades of tax cuts targeted at the very rich, we believe it’s time to give middle class families a break. The super rich can pay for a larger share of the public services that we all depend on.
